Disco Elysium saves lost, what to do??

In this guide I will try to help people like me, but most likely you will not be able to completely restore your main character, because:

1. It will be very tedious and long.

2. Most likely luck will not be on your side.

Cloud

But don’t despair too much! If you have a game Steam version, then you can check your cloud saves, thereby restoring your character completely.

To check whether cloud saves have been enabled, we select the game in the list, click RMB and choose Properties

If you have a checkmark, then follow the link and in the window that opens look for the save we need, then click Show files.

Load the save we need and transfer it to the save folder.

In the case of Disco Elysium, the folder is located in this path:

C:\Users\[USER NAME HERE]\AppData\LocalLow\ZAUM https://grand-hotel-casino.uk/ Studio\Disco Elysium\SaveGames

If you didn’t have the cloud turned on, then make yourself some tea and we’ll start restoring the adventures of the RGM employees.

Let’s start with the simplest method.

Go to the Steam manual and look for saves for achievements there. (Or just follow the link: TYK)

In the article that opens, we look for the closest preservation for us. (A photo is attached for each)

When we have found what we need (if we have found it), then follow the link under the save and download it.

Now, to transfer it to the game, we follow this path:

C:\Users\[USER NAME HERE]\AppData\LocalLow\ZAUM Studio\Disco Elysium\SaveGames

And there we transfer the format archive .zip

You can enter the game and check the functionality of the save.

You can already play, but if you want to customize these saves for yourself, then I advise you to stay.

Editing character characteristics to suit your needs

To edit the character’s characteristics to suit our own, we go to the save folder.

C:\Users\[USER NAME HERE]\AppData\LocalLow\ZAUM Studio\Disco Elysium\SaveGames

And we select our save, which we transferred to the folder, after which we DO NOT PULL OUT or UNPACK the contents of the file format .zip, since we will change all the characteristics we need right in the archive. (I advise you to either download the save a second time or copy it, since during our interaction it may stop working).

Now that we have found the desired save, go into the archive and look for a file that ends with .2nd.ntwtf.json and open it through notepad or another application in which we can change the characteristics (I use Notepads from the Microsoft store).

We are looking for the value we need. (They are signed in quotation marks, as in the screenshot)

To put the meaning we need, we look for the word amount and edit to the level we need.

Then we save and go into the game to check what we have done.

Changes in some missions (Correct me if I’m wrong)

To change some values ​​in the plot we go to the file format zip. and already change another format file.1st.ntwtf.json and we see this picture

We change the meaning of the quests to those that we need or do not need and check. (I didn’t notice any differences in the game)
